On October 31, 2025, the Deposit Insurance Fund, in cooperation with the Macedonian Banking Association, traditionally celebrated the World Savings Day – a day that reminds the public of the importance of saving and of trust in the financial system.
The event, attended by representatives from the financial and banking sectors, institutions, the business community, and the media, took place at the Mercedes Lounge Bar in Skopje.
The audience was addressed by Dr. Maja Stevkova-Sterieva, President of the Macedonian Banking Association; Ms. Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, Minister of Finance in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia; Dr. Trajko Slaveski, Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia; and Dr. Kralja Chesmadjiska, representative of the Deposit Insurance Fund, on behalf of Mr. Behar Emini, Director of the Deposit Insurance Fund.
In their speeches, the speakers emphasized the importance of saving as a prerequisite for financial stability and development, as well as the key role of the Deposit Insurance Fund in protecting depositors and maintaining the stability of the banking system.
As part of the event, recognition was given to the best employees in the banking sector, whose dedication and professionalism contribute to strengthening public trust in financial institutions.
The event concluded with a cocktail reception and friendly networking in a pleasant atmosphere.
Through this traditional celebration, the Deposit Insurance Fund and the Macedonian Banking Association once again reaffirmed their joint mission – to promote saving, financial literacy, and the stability of the banking system in the Republic of North Macedonia.
