The event "Meet the Deposit Insurance Fund" for young people was successfully held Skopje
March 26, 2026 - Today, the educational event "Meet the Deposit Insurance Fund", organized by the Deposit Insurance Fund (DIF), was held in the premises of the Public Room in Skopje. The event was intended for young people aged 18 to 22, in order to bring the work of the Fund closer to the young population and to increase awareness of the importance of deposit insurance.
The event was attended by a large number of young participants, who, through a series of short and informative presentations, were introduced to the role and responsibilities of the DIF, the method of managing funds, data analysis of compensated citizens, as well as practical advice for the distribution of funds in various banks and savings banks. Particular attention was paid to real examples from practice, which gave participants insight into how deposit protection works in real situations.
The event began with an introductory speech by the moderator, and was directly welcomed by the Director of the Deposit Insurance Fund. This was followed by presentations by expert teams of the Fund, who explained the structure and functioning of the Deposit Insurance Fund, the compensation threshold, efficiency measures and the promotional activities of the Fund. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and actively participate in the discussion, which stimulated interactivity and direct communication with the experts.
A promotional stand with brochures in Macedonian and Albanian was also set up at the event, which presented key information about the Deposit Insurance Fund and the importance of savings and deposit insurance. The official part was followed by an informal gathering, where young participants had the opportunity to further exchange experiences and discuss the topics of the presentations. With this event, the Deposit Insurance Fund confirmed its commitment to the financial education of young people and to strengthening trust in the safety of deposits in the banking system.
